PSS Programming Course

Objective:

The aim of the course is to equip delegates with the skills required to configure and program Pilz Programmable Safety Systems.

Course Duration:3 Days

Location: Aidco Training Center (ATC) / Customer Site

  • Installed PSS Win-pro with full license

  • Planners

Prerequisite:

  • Some basic knowledge on process measurement and control
  • Delegates should preferably have a general understanding of PLC Systems

Contents Topics:

  • The structure and variations of the PSS family of controllers.
  • Identification of correct installation methods particularly with regard to levels of safety integrity.
  • Use of the menu driven software functions of the PSS software, in both the ST (standard) and FS (failsafe) sections of the controller.
  • Correct configuration of a PSS system.
  • The role and importance of IEC 61508.
  • Correct application of a structured program.
  • Correct application of the Modular Block System (MBS) software.
  • Differentiation between errors reported by the operating system and errors reported by the application (MBS blocks).
  • Effective use of the powerful diagnostic tools which are inherent components of the PSS controller.
